Engineered with Alpacor® Yarn, Ausangate are a viable hiking sock alternative to a traditional wool or synthetic fiber. The yarn utilizes Alpaca wool’s natural warmth and softness, Microfiber for strength and wicking, and Tencel for added moisture release. Freshness is maintained by achieving maximum airflow and heat retention. The socks are padded from heel to toe, whilst a front mesh panel adds breathability, and an ankle compression band keeps socks the in place.
Alpaca is a naturally hydrophobic moisture repelling fiber due to the hollow fiber core. This helps reduce friction blisters and fungal infections of the feet. It is also naturally hypoallergenic because it is lanolin free, and naturally flame resistant meeting the standards US Consumer Product Safety Commission’s rigid testing specifications as a Class 1 fiber for use in clothing and furnishings. Alpaca fiber is also more eco-friendly than your average, as it can be spun immediately after shearing without using chemicals.
The hiking range includes High Calf Performance Socks at $19.99, Mid-Calf Hiking Socks at $16.99 and Ribbed Mid-Calf Alpaca Hiking Socks at $24.99 in three colors in both men’s’ and women’s’ sizes.
